Prior to joining InnovaCare, Penelope Kokkinides served in various organizations like Touchstone Healthcare, Centerlight Healthcare, and AmerChoice. She is one of the leaders who strongly believe in teamwork in actualizing every idea. According to her, brainstorming on a certain thing before executing it guarantees higher chances of success. Dr. Penelope studied Biological Sciences at Binghamton University and later did her “Master’s Degree in Social Work” at New York University. She also possesses qualifications in Alcohol & Substance Abuse (Advanced Degree) and a Master in Public Health.
Dr. Penelope Kokkinides is well trusted to handle and manage health advantage plans at the main center and subsidiaries of InnovaCare especially MMM Healthcare and PMC Medicare Choice which is the leading caregiver plan in Puerto Rico. This is the reason why she among the women invited by President Trump to the White House to discuss matters on the Federal Healthcare Law. Present also was the CMS Administrator Seema Verma.
The Women in Healthcare Panel consisted of 8 women who are executives and expert caregivers all over the US. During the regime of President Trump there was a promise of increasing the Medicare Advantage funding in Puerto Rico which had previously been reduced significantly. According to Dr. Penelope Kokkinides, the funding will take them out of the hole that they had been thrown into and it will boost the healthcare of the Puerto Rico community. It is the right and responsible thing to do in serving over 560,000 people are beneficiaries of the plan.
